It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of one of Beaverton Footballs brightest lights. This past week Justin Simmons passed on to join the angels in heaven. Justin, along with his brother Jason, have been the most consistently wonderful managers we have ever had the privilege of working with. As students in the first class I ever taught at BHS, I saw a spirit and energy showcased by tremendous smiles and knew there was something special about these two that encouraged me to invite them to help with our Football program. For the over 25 yrs they have been there at every game helping in any way possible to get the win, even to the point of helping me to yell at referees, sorry… encouraging them to do a better job! Justin and Jason became a huge part of our Football family. Justin was an avid Special Olympics athlete as well as a very hard worker at Canfield Place Retirement Community and spread joy everywhere he went. I encourage you to keep his brother Jason and his family in your thoughts and prayers while remembering the happiness and a joy for life that Justin brought to us all!
