SPRING SPORTS MTG TODAY

Today during the 1:50 session of Beaver Lodge we will be having a Spring Sports meeting in the Main Gym. I fully believe that the more sports you play the better the athlete you will be. You will also become a more competitive athlete as you will face competition many more times and the more you face it the better you respond/handle it.

I don’t care what sport you choose but I would like to see 100% of our players in a spring sport. If you are not sure what to do, here are some ideas:

TRACK – I would love to see all of our WR/DB/RB out sprinting and running the 100, 200, 4×100. I am always asked “how do I get faster?” Come out for track and let Coaches Powell & Blix train you for speed. I would also love to see our OL/DL/LBs out throwing or jumping!!!This develops the 2-3 step power we all need to defeat block or over power a defensive player.
*This is a non-cut sport.

BASEBALL – Hitting a Baseball is one of the toughest skills in any sport. Focus & concentration are at a premier in that sport. Would love to see our athletes developing this type of focus.
*This is a cut sport.

LACROSSE – Lax is tremendous for our WR/DB types as you are working speed/quickness, hand/eye coordination as well as seeing a defense on offense and developing zone/man skills on defense. This is a great sport.
*This is a non-cut sport.

TENNIS – This sport will really help to develop you footwork & quickness as well as hand/eye coordination. *This is a cut sport.

Finally, you can go out for any of these sports and still not get any better. If you don’t work to the standards of excellence you will not improve as an athlete. In every way possible, work hard to become the best athlete you can be. By doing that we will become the best Football team we can be!
