After a great start to the season last week, with our JV team winning 76-0 and the Varsity winning 47-6 we are feeling good about where we are at. As we have all talked about our goals for the season and the talk of who we have to beat… LO is the perfect game for us right now! This week we will be challenged to overcome obstacles and take our practices and game intensities to a higher level. Remember – Day by Day, Drill by Drill, Rep by Rep… this is how we prepare to be at our best by game time!!! But this week the test will be much tougher in a number of ways.

1st – LO is currently ranked 5 in the State in preseason polls and after a 40pt win last week they’re showing it that to be true. This will be a very tough opponent on both levels so we really have to focus up in our practices and get after it.

2nd – The heat is expected to raise to over 100 degrees this M/T and we will have to deal with that, rescheduling our on field practices both those days for 7-9:30 with meetings starting at 5:45pm. OSAA will not let us practice once the temp goes over 95 (3:30-6:30ish) and the humidity is at a certain number. If we start at 7 we should avoid any cancelations as we need to practice. I know this is an inconvenience for everyone and I really do appreciate your efforts!

3rd – School starts this week with all Freshmen reporting on Tuesday for a very modified day. Wednesday everyone comes back and the school year starts in earnest! Wednesday is a traditionally hard day in practice as everyone is tired from the first day of school but we will make it through! Make sure to bring snacks to eat after school to help you overcome the low energy after school

TUES – 5:45-9:30pm – Everyone. Meetings start in the lecture hall.

WED – 2:50-6:30pm – Varsity starts in lecture hall and JV is in the locker room.

THURS – JV Game 4:15 @ BHS
Varsity 2:50 on Merle Davies Field

FRI – BHS @ LO 7:00pm
